The saga of Little Chet

Chapter 2: Getting better, not bigger

Its now week three, and Chet finds himself on the long, harrowing road to recovery.

It was quite a wild ride the first few days after we decided to care for Little Chet.
Between the failed attempts at feeding, and the nightly squealing sessions we were beginning to wonder if it was good for Chet to be away from his family.

But, after two weeks Chet was still fighting to stand on his own.
Here is a picture of Chet with Daphne after one of his naps:

At the end of week two, we finally got Chet to learn how to eat from a bottle:

You may notice that Chet has not changed in size. Compared to his siblings in the pen with Mommy, Chet was a midget. In fact, as the weeks went by, Chet went from being a midget pig into a complete circus freak.

Here is a picture of Chet after three weeks:

Chet seemed to be healing very well. You can see his wound is closed up, and starting to look like regular skin again.

We figured the worst was over.
We figured there were better days ahead for little Chet.

We figured wrong.

Tune in next week for the next exiciting Chapter in the Saga of Little Chet!
